Vladmir grew up a small village near Smolinsk. An only child, Vladmir came from a poor family but always seemed content spending hours each day scouring the wastelands with his friends looking for "treasure", until one day he found a abandoned military bunker. When entering the bunker his eyes widened as part of the bunker was full of old bio-mech equipment. He soon put this equipment to good use and by the the time he was 15 he had created his first Artificial Intelligence.

He continued his work through-out university and after graduation applied was accepted for the job of Junior Tech at Oktober Industries in Smolinsk. Within the space of 3 years he had worked his way from a Junior Tech to Head of Bio-Mech and won several awards for his groudbreaking work. How-ever he later left O.I. because of lack of funding for his work and was hired by a covert undergroud movment called the Silver Talon to help them sabbotage some of the top Corperations.

At first he seemed weary of these strangers believing them to be nothing more then terrorists, but soon came to realise that these were just people wanting to loosen the vice-like grip that Corps such as Oktober Industries and Cobra had on the free World. Using his remarkable skills as a bio-mech scientist he created some of the most unique weaponry the Silver Talon had ever seen.

After helping his comrades by leading a total of 651 surgical strikes over the course of 12 years near-crippling some of the Corps, he earned the name of Tempest for the ability to totaly swarm and annihilate his opponants with his deadly weaponry.

A short while later he met and befriended a young man by the name of Sean Williams who he took under his wing and trained using all of his skills and years of combat.

The two men became almost unstoppable during their raids on Corps until a MARS security force finally captured the notorious members of the Silver Talon. Accepting the inevatable, Vladmir and the others knew that their fate was sealed by the Destro clan, until by sheer fluke Sean made a deal with a lesser devil in the form of Macleod Destro who granted them safe passage to the badlands and eventually G.I.Joe.

RedWolf's Database: Being one of the oldest members on the Joe team, Vladmir is a old warhorse that refuses to quit. He's stubborn and moody but wears his heart on his sleeve and has a lot of fire and fury buried deep inside his soul. It is indeed fitting that he chose the name Tempest.
