my vehicles for cc13 are 4 motorcycles (I know deja-vu right) but these are street style bikes.

I've had these corpse bikes for a couple years. they are pretty basic and not very exciting, but maybe I can fix that.
Image

I got these two spiderman bikes with the other ones I have used before. they are very low slung like a drag bike.
Image

it took some doing to get the corpse bikes apart. boiling water and prying to the point of breaking. the brown bike took a nasty bend in the water, but I think I fixed it with a lighter. I wanted to swap out the ugly wheels for something more realistic.
Image

the spiderman bikes have screws (like the other spidy bikes I've used) but I still had to boil the front ends to pop the cowl off.
Image

goo gone got all the stickers and glue off the corpse bikes.
Image

the split rear wheel on the spidy bikes looks terrible so I set about trying to swap wheels on them too. nothing was fitting easily. I tried tape and zip ties to fill the gap, but that looked worse. then I got the idea to fill the gap with another tire!

looked all over for axles. I finally got the idea to use nails!
Image

lots of work, but I think it pays off with the better wheels/tires.
Image
Image

while test fitting the rear wheels I made a big mistake. the rear wheels are much wider than the factory ones. to fit them in I clipped off the inner frame stand offs ,and while I was at it the front set too. then while fitting the rear wheels rub and the front is way loose...
again I looked all over for the right bits. I tried lego, coffee stirrer, heat shrink, steel jump rings, and all failed.

I needed something the thickness of 2 jump rings (but 2 stacked together was just too wobbly). coming up nil I tried making what I need out of wire. this technique is how we make gold/silver jump rings out of wire, but instead of clipping each ring off I clipped sections of 2-3 coils.
first I wrapped steel wire around a round screwdriver the dia. I needed.

the coils removed

the pics of my bikes after I spray painted must of gotten deleted (or possibly I forgot to take them). I let them dry for a couple hours after spraying 2 w/ flat black and 2 w/ flat white. then got to painting 3 of them. these pics show one coat of color on the corpse bikes and a wash on one of the others.
Image

the spidy bikes assembled. I did another wash to make the two halves match on the gray one and some clean up w/flat black acrylic on the other one where the spray was thin.
Image

another coat of green and a coat of flat white acrylic on the red bike.
Image
I still need to paint some detail in black.

I hope assembly goes smooth on these! wsh me luck!!

ahhh! assembly went pretty bad on the red and green bikes! I got them together then covered a few areas in metallic duct tape. paint went way bad last night on the red bike, but I think I saved it tonight.

switching out the rims and tires WAS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE! I should have just painted the factory wheels.

also pictured above is the nasty gap in the seat area. I used a seat out of my fodder to hide it. I covered both the corpse bikes bars in heatshrink to better fit joe hands.

here is the finished red bike taken tonight with my paper explosion effect.

and with some other props plus rider.
