'Bob the specific Destiny figures that i am speaking of are the new unreleased Destiny figures shown at TF. Specifically the gold robot shown on the Destiny display. Were you thinking that the Beyond robot you pictured was one of those repainted initially?

Edit:
This guy

Upon further inspection even the guy above would have to be heavily modified.

The arms and the torso may have been used for the custom robots in the Beyond build. Hard to tell for sure without seeing a good side view.
The legs and head seem to be out though as they are shown there. Like you said, they would have to be heavily modified.

I would love if MB would go the Lego route and have just generic playsets like that. I've often thought building a lego city would be fun, but the figures keep me from it. If MB would give us some sets with their figures, I'd be all over that. And I used to hate the brick format because I don't like the studs being visible on the finished model, but MB does a good job of keeping them to a minimum.

Already got a bunch of ideas for customs with that figure. Gonna need a bunch. My wallet is sad now.

Me too. The Beyond concept-- whatever it is-- is great, and I'd definitely support it if it makes it to retail (in some form). Making it slightly futuristic is a great idea, and a good way for Mattel to "stay in their lane" while LEGO does its unstoppable juggernaut thing.

I'd like to see Mega Construx do some original, in-house themes, because, again, they can be the anti-LEGO. LEGO might be Coca-Cola, but to me, Mega Construx is every other soda. I don't drink Coke, but I do drink a s___load of other flavors.

Brick sets have a built-in appeal, so they seem perfect for experimenting with non-licensed stuff. Pretty sure a lot of kids don't really care where a set is from, as long as it looks cool. I buy a lot of Mega Construx for my nephew, and buy whatever catches my eye. He loses his mind with excitement every time. Since he's 5, he has no idea what Call of Duty is, but he loves his Atlas Troopers.

That Destiny robot is a better Super Battle Droid than the actual Star wars version.

And it's smaller.

AND it has better articulation .

Here is a video with some new shots of the Build Beyond display piece Mega had at Toy Fair. I still haven't seen any official word yet on if these are going to end up as a new line yet or not.

This was posted in a Microman/Micronauts Facebook group I'm in and I thought some of you might find it interesting as well as it is better suited for smaller figures like Mega Bloks.

The studded pieces are added on with double sided tape so if you don't want to use those you don't have to.

As far as I know there isn't an American distributor yet and from reviews I've seen the folks that do sell it in America jack up the price so much that the shipping from the UK is cheaper.

Question for any of you that try to match the very light flesh tone of the molded pieces like the Assassin's Creed heads, the bare arms from Star Trek or the bare chest from the Call of Duty River Boat....
What brand and color do you use to get close to that molded plastic color?

I've found that Testor's Model Master flesh tones seem to be the best straight out of the bottle. It doesn't photograph the best, but if you look at my Crankcase, I used the Testor's light flesh base for his arms and neck. It's nearly dead on for the lightest flesh colors MB uses.

I haven't seen this confirmed anywhere else yet so I'm trying not to get too excited but I am excited this could become a reality.

The civilians alone would make me lean towards MB again heavily. I have so many figures with custom heads precisely because i couldn't obtain a wide variety of mask less heads through MB easily. This solves that problem . I'd be all over this .

A pic of my 2 favourite lines together.

So judging by the looks of the vehicles for that Beyond setup, Mega Construx is the return of the Construx line from the 80's in brick form instead of beams and connectors.
I'm surprised they didn't make the yellow astronaut as a MB figure for their display. Even the purple alien was shown.
