I wish I knew about this ages ago...

Granted, it's sort of a commercial, but the product looks like it could answer about 60% of my prayers...

YOU'RE NOT MY SUPERVISOR!

So... what would it take to make one that worked on the insulation sheets? Just a differently sized handle piece, or would it need different length blades as well?

I'd imagine something with the ability to support varying blade depths. Or at least, a constant, deeper blade reach.

One thing I really like about the foam board version from the video, though, is the ability to cut channels, as well as the angles. That was something I wanted to kn ow how to do without looking for it, so it was a bonus when they explained that part in the Exacto video.

Yeah, those things came a few years too late for some of us. Had to do it the way we learned in art school when cutting illustration board and mat board for framing and such. Just use a sharp Xacto and metal rulers and triangles.

I was considering getting the foamwerks famlfamily of cutters. https://youtu.be/yYKa2RZTifU. This tool seems to combine many of the cutters into one, but I think i would prefer having a tool for each task over one that needs changing for each task.
