I have no idea whether they have melted it down, but their word is that it's retired, which doesn't mean melted down. Most companies don't deliberately destroy molds for no reason, since that keeps them available for random instances like this.

The big question is whether the Club would pay to refit the hindarms to have swiveling, imho.

Again, movie likeness rights.

Also, BFS have already sculpted a head for her. And Golobulus, fwiw.

That's what I'm hoping for is BFS involvement. At the very least, if we get some decent unique pieces out of the figure, we can make customs we like better. I'm not crazy hopeful for body choices, but I'm also realistic in what's in The Club's purview. Aside from Iceberg and parts of Dial-Tone, the Club membership figures have been pretty great. As an incentive to join, I think they try harder, if that makes sense.

J_Man came up with an interesting mock up for Pythona using the Urban Camo version of RoC Scarlett/Mission: Brazil Sparta. While it is a uniform, it's a smooth texture and very, uh, uniform throughout. His mock up looked pretty good. I wouldn't mind seeing maybe Resolute or Scarlett's upper Torso with Zarana's lower.

I'm not sure of the exact wording but I do recall something being said at the panel along the lines of "significant amount of new tooling" for this figure.

Just found out that next year's 12" figure is a new version of Mike Power - Atomic Man.

So -- I have to choose between a new version of a 12" G.I. Joe that was one of a very small number that I actually owned back in the day, or a 4" figure of a character that should've BEEN made back in a somewhat more recent day?

Next year is not going to be easy...

Yeah, good point. I guess I was just shocked over TWO seriously cool figures in the same year, especially after this year's lackluster Dr. Mindbender. I went for the glowing 12" guy. Hoping he SHOWS UP soon, too!

For those without Facebook, here are J_Man's mock-ups of a potential build for Pythona:
