I happened to be in a Dollarama this evening and upon exiting passed through the toy aisle. I was surprised at the quality of toys on the pegs and shelf. Specifically i noticed
GI Joe Retaliation figures (Storm Shadow, Roadblock, Cobra Trooper ) and the Lord of The Rings 3 3/4'' figures with joe level articulation (or fairly close). I don't collect 1:18th anymore but i thought some of you would like to know.

They had a few other lines that i found surprising as well (Heroclix for example and some fair Transformer KO's).

I'd get some of those W1 Ret figures at $3 a pop. Wonder where the nearest Dollarama is...

Tonnes of heroclix in the Southern Ontario ones, but nothing in the 1:18 scale yet. Was there yesterday hoping to see something like that.

Still, I could see this being a bad thing for my wallet if they make their way to us...

They are mostly teams and names too. There's a Punisher/Ironman combo tube that was really tempting me, even though I am not into the scale or the game. They also have the i-pad game compatible figures as well hanging on the wall.

I am feeling the need to hunt again. Long ago I put that part of me away - but the prey calls to me. Fodder. Fodder. Fodder will you hear me...

I think Dollarama is Canada only. I've found a lot of Hobbit figures (Legolas, Thorin, Bilbo, Gandalf and Goblin) for $2.50 each as well as the Retaliation Joes. Seems like most stores only got one case of the Retaliation figures in and the Red Ninja, Joe Trooper and Cobra Trooper have quickly vanished. Hopefully they get more in.

I hit one on the outside of town, turns out that the new toys are coming in with the restock.

Confirmed that each store is getting a single case of joes in right now. I picked up a few just because, but unless there's another restock coming soon, it's unlikely that anyone will be building an army at this price. I did not see any LOTR, which would have been interesting because I've never seen the figures in person before. Someone could have swept the peg on me before I got there, but the lady said that the toys were just put out today.

But the big news is for Kreo fans. The Land defense pack which comes with 4 kreos is $3. That's a decent deal on military kreos for anyone interested in such things. And they had many boxes. I had to restrain myself to merely 4 of them. You get 3 military ones with a nice mix of camo (similar to the Rise of Cobra movie green camo) and plain green and a night vision helmet, red beret and ball cap.

So I am happy that I ducked out of work for these. Hard not to buy more at that price as I will usually pick up any kreons at a buck a piece.

Dollarama is in Canada only (to my knowledge) but i've noticed that they often buy from the same suppliers that provide product to the US discount chains .

When the Mars Heroes showed up under a different brand name in Canada i knew they would show up in the US shortly afterwards. When i heard about $5 GI Joes at dollar stores (?) i knew it was only a matter of time before Dollarama received something similar as they are the leader in their category.

Dear Canadians: Please buy everything.

Perhaps that's what they were specifically (not LOTR as i stated). I dont follow the line but i knew they were LOTR related with Joe articulation. And they were $2 which stood out to me next to the $3 joes.

BTW...Zartan was on the shelf as well below Storm Shadow. I have pictures if anyone wants to see them.
