what about this. it would be cool in a few ways and should be bigger if i'm fallowing what you are planning.

I have been "overdoing" this 3D Transformer Soundwave in alt mode (cassette recorder) project and I have finally came to the end of what I can possibly do to it in that form. I only need to get the slicer program to work now that I have came to the end of this stage. The whole reason that started me on the path of "overdoing" it in the first place. Though that is another story. My problem is that I want to print it out in 1:18 scale for Joes and I have a few option that I can't decide on. I can scale it accurately using the cassette as a guide, but that creates other problems. I'm asking on what you think? Here are the main options I have singled in on, but always open to suggestions: Option 1) I can scale it as a microcassette recorder (as he originally was/is). Would put him at about 10 x 5 mm. Size in my mind a little bigger than I was hoping/imaging in the scale. If I do cassettes to go inside, they will be impossible (much like the round that came with POC Low Light's rifle round). Maybe not that bad, but comes close as the size makes them almost unusable for figure in the scale. Option 2) I can do the non micro version and go for a original cassette variant. Makes the cassettes much more usable, but almost doubles the size of Soundwave. This one I almost didn't add as it crushes the reason I started the project in the first place. I wanted a better looking scale (or in my mind) than the one from the SDCC set. Option 3) I can just go with a scale size that looks right in my mind with figures. I listed this one last as it basically puts all my overdoing to waste. It would shrink it down too much that I think it would not be feasible to open for a cassette and if it does the cassette would look way too tiny. Thank you for your time and help, momaw nadon |

You're either going to have to make it a bit bigger, or at least the tape compartment bigger, or give up on the tapes. Tapes at a true 1:18 would be ~3mm x ~2mm x ~.5mm That's super-tiny (backpack pegs are 3mm wide). Maybe do a 'stack' of the cassettes that you could display beside him or something? |

the little "sprue" that links the dividers for the clear trays (tackle box) might make for cheap and easy tapes at our scale. i clipped a bunch for spacer "credits" that i gave to spec. ' |
