A couple of weeks ago I picked up two of these 'Treat Stands' from Walmart for $2 each.

I am looking to get a 50 pack of alligator clips to put in the holes to use as a paint drying station.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08D8 ... 0CF0&psc=1

I can't find any dimensions for the diameter/size of the rods the clips are on.

I'm gonna assume, based on the pics in the Walmart description, that the holes are slightly bigger than your standard lollipop stick.

If I get the clips, I have no issue with putting tape or something around the bottom to keep them from falling out of the holes or tipping due to a size issue.

Any suggestions?

i like that stand idea. right now i have 20-50 clothes pins i use as either clip on or a couple like a tripod. it isn't very safe as they tip over a lot!

for your clips i need to know if the holes are lined all the way down or just a hole through thin plastic.

if lined with plastic ot holes down into solid plastic what about...... heat shrink lol! i know it must be like a broken record by now, but it can be doubled or more to make a perfect fit. no tape/glue to desinigrate over time with cleaning etc. it is cheap and useful enough to buy in bulk.

if just a hole in thin plastic i suggest backing them with something or even spray foaming them solid. a hollw tube with a collar under and on top might work, but would take finding lots of same style pieces then assembly.

if you try it this one and like it you could use wood to make an identical piece with drilled holes. it would be heavier and last a loong time.

Holes are as if there are tiny cups stuck underneath. If you put a rod in the hole, it would stop at the bottom of hole. It basically looks like the pegs from Battleship stuck in the bottom.

I have plenty of heat shrink tubing, but thinking clear tape (I get lots of clear tape on clearance after they start marking down Christmas stuff).

I have gone round and round trying to figure out what I'd like in a paint drying stand. With my hands, I know how much room I need to move stuff around and having them spread all over the base would keep me from bumping into something and messing up the paint.

i hate when tape goes tacky, but is sounds like that will do it. i have a lazy susan i was using for paint. when i paint tiny things with spray like those facehuggers i pin them to a piece of cardboard. that sucks because with those i sprayed both sides 1st with white, then after brushing/washing both sides clear. lots of time pinning unpinning.
