With more people either getting 3D printers or getting access to them, I thought I'd share a model I created to give people something to do with all their new downtime. This is my version of the EVA that came with the original GI Joe space shuttles. You can download it from my sync.com account if you want it.

Oh, that's cool. It's neat to think where the hobby is going so quickly.

Maybe we will be able to get to a point where we can set an item on a plate, it gets scanned, and then prints out a duplicate on another plate. Someone could make backpacks, helmets, guns, heads, and other parts.

I wonder what an Oktober Guard version would be like...

Actually, scanning is possible now and can even been done on most cell phones. The tricky part is making sure the scan is printable.

I posted on thingaverse so people can do remixes if it if they want. Could be exciting to see what other people can do with it!

Weird, I'll have to check it when I get back to my computer. It was showing up last night but it's not now.
None of my designs are available. Hmmm. I'll get it fixed and update this thread.

As for scanning, I use Android and have played with Display.land and Qlone, which both are pretty cool. Sony had an app, too, that's supposed to be good. I think at least Qlone is available for iOS.

Okay, I'm not sure what's up with thingiverse but until I get it sorted out, I dropped the EVA on my sync account. I'm throwing in a bonus model. This is my take on one of the Waruders from Takara's Diaclone.
This is in Mega Construx scale (and design style), so is about 2" tall when assembled. But you should be able to scale it up to work with GI Joe.
