I have been watching clips of various DC Universe Animated shows/movies and have noticed some characters I thought were interesting.

One happened to be the Talon, from the Court of Owls.

I looked at the design and was trying to visualize a suitable 1:18th scale base figure to use as a starting point. What out there could be useful or close enough in design?

After walking through a toy aisle recently, I was dozing at home when inspiration hit.

Marvel's Ronin.

With added claws (interchangable hands from another toyline?), some other modifications, and then coming up with a suitable head, I think this might be a possible recipe for someone planning on making a Talon figure of there own.

I realize the skirt might have to go, but it could be left and reworked a bit to just be a minor costume variation (for more formal occasions) or something that the Talon would rip off for combat situations.

What do you think? Doable?

a cobra commander head with slight mods would work. I like the larger new sculpt cc heads.

I think some of the JvC era CC heads might work too. Basically whichever head has the most neck/shoulder drape you can find. Styrene pipe cut in to thin rings for the goggles will probably be easier than tracking down and ready made goggle accessories that would match.

That's a really good idea. That spliced with a CC head would be pretty close!

cleaning up a bit I found my figure I got off ebay one of the "sino dolls" type sellers. I honestly got it as an add on to my order because it was $5. I never messed with it after it arrived. posing it and trying to get pics I realize it kind of sucks. everything is soft and rubbery, won't hold a dynamic pose. the feet are grossly too large, waist and midriff too small. kind of thunder thighs.i got it to make a mortal kombat custom, but probably won't now.i'll need to bash in so many joe parts might as well start with one of the ME ninjas.

since I had it in hand, I found the swamp rat helmet. I don't have a hooded CC head at hand, but I found a starwars hooded head. had to Dremel it out a bit and it is backwards under the helmet.

I used that base, only the white ninja version, for a Moon Knight LBC a few years ago. I agree with all the issues you pointed out. Still it's not a bad start especially with that head.
