I think I read or saw some where that material used for Halloween costumes and capes is perfect for these. And if you don't want it to be able to pose the fabric you can skip sewing on a second layer and use fray check on the edges of the cape. And you can use pastels to add dirt and depth to them.  |

Attachment: I've always advised using the synthetics, which can be sealed with heat. There are many in-scale faux leathers that have great embossing.  |
