Hey all,

Trying to figure out what the part used in the middle of the back end of these two ships. It is a canopy or hatch from a toy. These two ships were build for the Battle of Wolf 359 in Star Trek TNG during the 80s. Even the builder doesn't remember where he got them. Any thoughts?

Seen here from the top, with a hinge at the front, approximately 5 inches long.

Seen here from a 3/4 angle with attached pieces in the first two pictures. And from some under side shots of the first ship in the last couple of pictures.

I have held that part in my hand before, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what toy its from.

Thanks,

JohN M.

The only thing that springs to mind is the canopy from one of the Mamba pods.

I'm thinking the canopy and the connector tabs may be separate pieces, which is what's throwing everyone off.

Sea Ray?
Avalanche?
Hammerhead top sub?
ESB Snow Speeder?
Buck Rogers Starfighter?
Captain Power Phantom Striker?

When was the episode made? That'll give an upper limit of how much searching one needs to do.

It was The Best of Both Worlds I and II. End of Season 3, start of 4. The Locutus episodes. Summer 1990, so 1990 at the latest.

They are NOT joe parts from what I can tell. They are both identical, which lends it self to be that the hinge is on both in the same place because they came with it.

It is not from the snow speeder, it's wider adn curvier,

Captain Power comes the closest, but not identical.

Buck Rogers is not solid, no glass in the frame.

I checked Exosquad, Robotech, Macross, Joe, MOTU,.

Thanks guys for the thoughts.

I was thinking Sea Ray, Stellar Stilleto, or Locust.

Too wide to be from the Raider.

I read that the creator of the model has said it might be Robotix from what he remembers, and some of the other ships do show Robotix parts, but no one has been able to find a picture.

It's really fun trying to identify all the stuff they used to make the lesser-seen ships in TNG. Highlighters, random toy parts, pieces off Gundam and Macross models. Rachel Garret, the Enterprise-C captain, was killed by the wing of a Valkyrie from Macross, and the Valk's backpack can clearly be seen on the Stargazer.
