Who's got one and how have you results been? What methods have you used to smooth your prints? I just got the micro from the M3D kickstarter. Heres my first high res try.

Holy BeeBalls!

off the top of my head: J_man, MarkM, and recently DanOfTheDead. There are certainly others, and now I add you to that list.

Could you show us your digital model, your machine, and some different views of your print?

Yup I have one. I've used acetone vapor baths, good old fashioned sanding, and combinations of them to smooth prints. I also tweak my printer as much as I can to minimize banding.

I got one recently, took the plunge and invested in the FormOne+. Only need to do some minor sanding on the points where the support structure meets the model.

I currently have 2 with 2 more on the way. 3 if you count the attachment on the CNC machine I'm getting. Still holding out for one of the new resin printers that does faster printing and higher resolution.

You have 38 hours as of this typing. $179 plus shipping isn't bad at all for a first printer to learn from.

I primarily use Sketchup right now with an export to stl extension. I use the PreForm software that ships with the Form1+ for printing, that's been very easy to learn.

Used Rhino while in school, wasn't crazy about it... but it looks like Sketchup merging functions is Pro mode only.

Learned some Maya while in school, too, need to try to see if any of that translates over to Blender.

Trying to learn a little more about building nurb based models instead of polygons, seems to result in a smoother model on hi-res printers.

I learned creo/pro-engineering and solid works in school but those are geared for engineering not sculpting i wonder how what i learned would translate.

I'm actually mostly using 123D Design. I'm learning zbrush. I want something though that will work exactly like Illustrator where you can draw everything fully in vector then select to apply a skin or whatever. Or it just automatically lays it out. I figure it exists, I just don't know what I'm looking for. zbrush's hardest thing is all the hidden menu options. it's more difficult than it should or needs to be.
