I don't me dream customs like, "I'd love to make a ten foot long Cobra Airship with lights and sounds," I mean customs you know exactly how you'd make, exactly what you would need, but part of what you need is too insanely expensive.

For instance, I've always wanted to make a Cthulhu custom. And I know exactly how I would make it, too, using a full size LotR Balrog as a base. The downside is, the LotR Balrog now goes for $All The Money. So the idea just sits in my brain, stewing away.

So, what great custom ideas are sitting just behind your pay-wall?

I have an idea in my head for a Sky Patrol P-40 Warhawk. And I would want it professionally chromed by a company that chromes plastic. But who can afford that one. Maybe someday.

Let's see, I have several ideas I'd love to do and have done some work to see if they are feasible:

Dreadnok Roadhouse:
Planned to be a 2 foot by 4 foot base, with walls 2 scale floors high. Caged stage on one end, bar in the middle, dancing stage and mechanical bull at the other end. Tables and chairs around. Two side entrances leading to kitchen and bathrooms. Two stair leading up to walkways on both sides. Removable walls to take pics from any angle

GIJOE RTV: http://gijoe.wikia.com/wiki/R.T.V.
I have drawn this out on the bigger size graph paper, bought inner tubes for the wheels, collect parts to make the body section, and brainstormed on action features.

GIJOE LCAC: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landing_Craft_Air_Cushion
This was an idea from last summer. I have access to a bunch of 4x4 inch heavy plastic parts left over from my Mom's deck railing project. I also have quite a bit of thick pink foam. Have drawn some initial plans and thought about features. Plan to have two levels in the cargo area, an upper one for vehicles and and lower one for troop transport. Various weapons emplacements and the usual stuff found on the real LCAC.

Dreadnok Big Rig:
Based on Mad Max and the truck from the Jason Statham Death Race movie. Wanted a heavily armored tractor and trailer with gun emplacements, sliding armored panels that reveal rocket launchers, etc

I think we've talked about this before, but I have this almost exact (as in same floor plan) custom I've wanted to do for years now. I'm actually thinking about doing it again, but making it semi-modular. My original design was just too much, size and cost wise. But I think I've figured out a way to get what I'm wanting with a few sacrifices.

So I guess I have to copy one and say the same thing: Dreadnok Roadhouse.

Lately it seems it is not so much the customs, but the accessories for them that are really out of range. I finally settled on the Temple Guardian Snake Eyes chest armor to complete a gal custom, but since I make two of every custom, one clothed, one near nude for soft goods or custom armor changes, I wanted to get another for such a scene, but by the Seven, that figure is crazy expensive now. Wasn't so when I got mine from BBTS a few years ago under $6. But now, ouch.

I also found the best recipe to make the harpies that I have done have fully jointed and posable legs. I used one of the earliest Jurassic Park "compy" looking dinos from the two pack of them, and since I want to repeat it for the another of the three harpies I am making, there is just no way since that set anywhere I have seen it online goes for $60 plus. Ouch, part 2.

I would still love to make a D&D Gelatinous Cube complete with a half dissolved skeleton and some armor and treasure bits floating within, but to cast one, especially a near square foot one in resin, translucent rubber, or any such medium is so out of reach I might as well just cast it in lemon Jello and literally eat it.

Still would love to have this Skyrim Alduin dragon word wall vacuformed at least twice, but again, there's just no possible way especially with a $300 increase in our rent.
