The Spectre should be able to help you.

You can get bottles like that at Michael's and Jo-Ann Fabrics in their jewelry/craft section. Or in the "Vintaj" section that has all the steampunk goodness. They even have in scale domed real glass display jars.

For myself, I use good ol' fashioned plastic Xmas light replacements that come in baggies in a wide variety of sizes and colors, and they are cheap too. Being cheap hard plastic, it is not uncommon to find some of these bulbs with bubbles already suspended in the plastic. To get that signature look, I heat the pointed end with a candle and rub it on a cool ceramic tile to flatten it.

The clear vials, which make great health or "holy water" vials, are actually the head of a Dreamscape miniature. Depending on how it is cut off, it can even have a peg (on the right, last) that can even be attached to a belt, or the figure itself. With a pin drill, you can drill a hole in the filigree accented top and even string it for around the neck.

I guess I should have been more specific. I have the bottles. How would I make the "liquid" look like the picture above?

There is a clear candle making product out there that could work for this. If I recall correctly it comes in little chunks or globules and you melt it down then pour it into your form. Check the candle/crafty area of your local craft store. It comes in a tub like butter I believe.

Interesting idea.

I read that food coloring looses its color over time. Good thought though.

I had read about this too. It might be a good choice.

MS is onto something there. That gel candle stuff may work for me on a project too. I was hoping to make a more realistic heavy water cube and cannister. That may be just the trick.

I think I may try this too. Drop in some wax, and hold the container in boiling water until it melts. I think shaking the bottle will help create the bubbles too.

It might be cheaper to buy some gel candles and melt them. :)

I was thinking the same thing. Especially for me, I just need blue. Although I can't say I remember ever seeing them in a store, but I have never shopped specifically for candles either.
