As someone that has a fondness for the Russian team, I am looking for inspiration for new characters.

I already use Zangief as a reserve member of the Okotber Guard.

I was wondering if any of you could offer suggestions for other characters. I've seen a gun named Dragov from a video game called, "The Club", and I know there are characters from Red Alert. I just saw a character from the RPG module 'Fury of the Bear'.

What about doing versions of the Pravda Patrol which were the template for the Oktober Guard? Captain Yuri, Sachi, Striker and The Mouse would be great additions to the Guard. (Big Bear already exists as a character so I'm assuming you have him on your team) Be sure to hover your mouse over the last pic for an idea what these characters were supposed to look like.

I have a... *cough* ... project in the works with those specific characters already and am also collecting parts for a certain off road vehicle from the early Marvel run. I just found a source of material that would work better than my previous choice.

I have an og custom on my to do list which might be a good fit for your expansion project. I am planning to part out a Red Scorpion. Dolph Lundgren played as a Russian Special Forces soldier. I was toying around with using the kwinn legs but he had a couple of different looks in the movie.

Also, I have Wong from the sunbow run on the list as well.

My suggestion is pretty much any action movie from the 80's....Wolverines, Rambo (3?), Iron Eagle (2?), etc. Dolph mentioned above was a great choice - could be from a variety of his roles. Hunt for Red October also comes to mind.

Sorry, now I realize movies weren't part of your original criteria. So many good choices though....

Lots of Russians in the movies I was thinking of (wolverines was supposed to be Red Dawn), but now I'm struggling to think of individual compelling characters...will have to give it more thought. The guy I liked in red dawn was actually Cuban. But in one of the iron eagle movies the Russians team up with the US despite their differences, which feels very OG/Joe.

I do have a WIP of Ivan Drago and Ludmilla Vobet Drago's son. I thought of after Rocky 4 he is cast aside by the Russians because he lost. As a result he is cut off from the medical care he was receiving and his body started to fail him. Living disgraced, he turns to alcohol and spends his remaining years slowly losing himself in his demons. Ludmilla leaves him and raises their son elsewhere. The son grows up and serves with the Russian Army, always living under his Father's shadow, even though he uses his Mother's family name. He blames the West for his Father's decline and his hate drives him. His skills get him noticed by the Oktober Guard, but there is always the potential for conflict whenever the JOEs and the Oktober Guard meet up.
