Is there anyone out there who casts modern versions of classic Joe backpacks to fit the modern/25th/30th peg holes? BrokenArrow used to have a decent selection but the first and last time I ordered from them left me waiting 6 months for my order. I would love to find a modern-pegged backpack for Recondo, Lifeline, Mainframe, Zandar and Tunnel Rat.

If there isn't anyone, what would it take to cast my own? Would the backpack be sculpted from scratch or would the original be used to create a mold then the peg modified?

Get some accessory pack ones or ones off of ebay....and dremel the backpack peg on it down to fit......or use dowel rods that fit the backpack peg and glue those to the backpacks after dremeling the original off.......
I've done that to two Tele Viper backpacks for the one that came with the flight pod and the walmart red televiper.
Another idea is to ask Nova.....

Too bad there wasn't some easy adaptable backpeg peg that could make a modern peg fit for ARAH figures and a peg for ARAH to fit on modern figures... :shifty:

I designed this for a ME to RAH adapter, but something similar could surely be made.

The Modifications are pretty easy to do... you just have to find Styrene rod that's the Correct Diameter for the back pegs... Cut off the vintage peg and fill in the back pack with Putty or Epoxy...once it's cured mark where you want the Peg to sit on the Backpack so it's at the correct height on the figure... drill a hole for the peg in the backpack and then just glue it all together.

Once the mod's been made casting it is easy enough...It'd just be a matter of figuring out if it's cost effective to do so or not.

Hardest part for me has been figuring out a good diameter for the peg... I've had a little success using old POTF2 Star Wars light sabers, they seem to be about the right size and have just a bit of flexibility... been a while since I've fiddled with them though.
