I want to make a Christmas tree ornament for my son out of a Joe and I want to use perhaps a small package, a candy cane, maybe a small string of lights, etc. What is my best bet to find Joe size christmas objects such as these? Does Michaels have this sort of thing for Christmas craft making or should I hit a Hallmark store and buy some ornaments to dissect and get pieces off of. Money is no object on this one, I just want to make something memorable. My family has a tradition that every year everyone gets a dated ornament that is personalized and ideally linked to your interests at that point in your life. And lucky for me, my son has just started requesting to watch GI Joe.

Thanks.

I got a small string of working Christmas lights in the little Lemax village section at either KMart or Michaels. There are likely other things you can use in that section as well.

Check out any holiday section for ornaments that fit what you're looking for. Target might have something you can use for parts and won't be as expensive as Hallmark. Michael's or Hobby Lobby would be good places to look for just bits and pieces. And don't be afraid to hit the Dollar stores or Big Lots.

Aaaaaaaahhhhh-mmmmmmmeeeeeeeennnnn!

Target has a great selection of battery or usb powered christmas light and mini-mini trees.

Michaels is great right now. Not only Christmas village stuff but their scrap booking section as well as kids' crafts and jewelry sections. Look for their adds or sign up for their coupons. Those 50% off an item or 20% an order coupons are great. Speaking of jewelry, at Claire's Boutique check their earrings. I picked up some sleigh bell earrings for my wife and got 50% off a set of wreath earrings perfect for Joes.

While not helpful for you for this project, right after Christmas when everyone is clearancing off this stuff, that is when I start looking for next year.
