I had the idea to get ahold of a Chap Mei Submarine, and add some PVC pipe sections so it looks more like the Space Yamato, then paint all silverwhite.

Plastic office trash cans with Joe jet fins, a Skywalker T-16, and a few SLAMs. Pretty big undertaking for sure.

I was thinking to scale-warp her down to 'light corvette' class, about the size of the Falcon IRL.

I saw a large plastic golf club tote that would make an amazing spaceship. It was a bit large, and it was a few years back.

What about one of those plastic wrapping paper storage containers that comes out after Christmas as the base? Could be easy to add mods to and paint.

Dang it, I can't get the right pic to link. I'm wanting to do her in the old Simonson style. The Chap Mei Sub would be a good start, imho. Scale her down to a manageable size. The Sub gives him a few rooms to move about in. Affix a few PVC pipe sections and some ensmallened turret guns from a model kit, and I think it's doable, like the concept toy for the old Rebel Blockade Runner from ANH.
