Give some consideration to giving just a hairsbreadth of filing to an opposing pair of the backpeg flanges, so it's not giving him so much friction in his backhole.

Yeah, I don't think I want to mess with this piece even that much, especially given how the last one didn't just break, it outright crumbled. I have installed it carefully and rather lightly, so it will stay put, but not so much that it's going to cause any trouble for the figure.
