Ive been customising on and off since I was about 10- 32 years.

Recently though, Ive pushed myself further than I ever have- with a resulting improvement in my technique

I thought Id share a few things Iv learned that most on here will know, but may be useful to folk just starting out.

The importance of a good brush
I still havent really spray painted- though seeing how many on here use the medium I do want to try.

Ive learned that the old adage- you get what you pay for- really applies to brushes.

Poor quality brushes (and to a lesser extent paint) are just good for spreading the paint. For fine detail, you need a good quality brush, with a good tip

Blood sugar levels.
This one may be a surprise- Ive noticed that if I dont eat correctly it greatly affects how shaky my hands are. Im in my early 40s which id definately a factor- but if anyone is getting shaky hands- try eating approx an hour before trying again

Old dogs can learn new tricks.

I could have sat in comfort zone, but by pushing myself- and being inspired by the incredible work that is posted here- Ive definately improved as a customiser. Ive also noticed it in several others on the site- the more they push (and practice) the better their work gets

Id just like to finish by saying I love this site- theres some great folk on here and some truly outstanding talents

If your hands are shaking due to low blood sugar, you should get tested for the diabeetus, man. Wilford Brimley loves you and wants you to be customizing for many years to come.
