Take a look at this and tell me what you see. Is it a water storage tower, or a power generator? It's a little under a foot tall and is intended for my ALIENS universe. Paint job isn't finished yet.

it looks like it would hold something, so maybe it is a nuke generator. pump in water for cooling.

My first inclination was desalination plant as DarkJedi suggested. This....object.....will be part of a colony, much like the one in the original ALIENS movie. So I figured most of their power will come from a nearby atmosphere processor since it's "basically a big fusion reactor." BUT....they might need a back-up generator if that ever has to get taken off line for maintenance.

Mysterious Stranger, I happen to have a transmitter array which looks like a big satellite dish...but the two are pretty close in size and might not look the best paired together.

This originally started out as a filter/pump for one of those 12' diameter inflatable pools. I've had my eye on it since we got it last year thinking it would make a great base for a 1:18th item. It gave out after last year and I snatched it up quick-like.

I think I've decided to go with some sort of water tower...probably a desalination type. I've got it painted up, now I just need to weather the hell out of it and make some signage and apply it.

Finished! Decided to go with a desalination water tank. Really weathered the hell out of it. This thing sits on a harsh planet and has been repaired and painted time and time again. The local colony kids like to visit it at night, hang out and cover it with graffiti.

I feel it needs some rust stains running down the side. Most old industrial devices would have drips down under outlets, purge valves, joints, and the control wheels/
