The Ebon Blade of Merlin began to whisper to Dane Whitman whenever he drew the sword from its scabbard; imploring him to seek its vengeance. In time, the whispers became shouts and Dane began to falter in battle with his fellow Avengers. Only once Dr Strange inspected the sword was Dane able to endeavour upon the sword's quest.

Unfortunately, this meant Whitman had to go to Hell.

It was there, in one of the innumerable damned fiery dimensions of the Multiverse that Whitman was 'gifted' the Demon Imp named Pus-Sucker as a guide. Pus-Sucker's help is dubious at best, often cussing about Whitman's mother and farting at inappropriate moments; and now that the sword's quest for vengeance has been sated he won't go back home to Hell.

Dammit.

The Black Knight is the MU figure with a few issues upgraded. I replaced the sword blade with a styrene bi-layer, and the scabbard with shaped-and-glue-hardened construction paper; with the shield being an old Dungeons&Dragons piece that's been bouncing around my Bits Box for a trio of decades. I replaced his arms and legs with those from an MU Goblin of one color or another, and laid down a funky fabric with a similar pattern to the Goblin's mail; with a badly hand-painted bit of paper for his chest sigil (a Merlin bird, I'm told).

Pus-Sucker is a MegaBloks MotU Beast-Man with a Halo Elite's legs and the head, tail, and back spikes from a Schleich baby dragon found in the Battle Arena playset.

all of this entry is awesome. I particularly like how that sword turned out - the demon looks very Mignola-ish.

I think I have that same shield -- was it initially green/black?

According to Plaid Stallions, the shield came with the D&D Ogre King; whom I know I never had. I have no clue how I came to have his shield.

I also found some Pus-Sucker WIP pics:

I know very little of Black Knight - how much of the back story is asundered, and how much is from the source? Cause it's both cool and f'd up. lol

Also, jm, I have that same shield you're talking about in black and green also.

That he weilds an ebony blade forged by Merlin from a meteorite and it's been passed down to Dane Whitman is about all there really is to know about TBK, lol. Everything else is my yammering to justify showing them off at the same time.

Pus Sucker is wonderful, unique and so different from what one would find on toy shelves. Very good execution. I'd like something like that from Mattel an the official motu mega line.

Side benefit - seeing the WIP pictures made my appreciation for Mega Figures increase. That's a nice looking elite guard body and Beastman without accessories reminds me of how impressive the Mega construction is.

Yeah, the Elite Guard is awesome and I'm glad I found another to scavenge instead, lol.

That's awesome work Adrien!

I know what I could do with my spare Beast Man right now too. Even though these MOTU figs have been tough to find.

Gracias! Yah, I've given up on finding Teela in the wild. I've put a set of the Hellboy/Kratos/Evil-Lyn wave on pre-order at BBTS to make sure I at least get one of each of them to keep, if not customize.

Man, the Black Knight is aces but, for me, Pus-Sucker steals the show. Very creatively done, which isn't a surprise when looking at your catalogue of work.
