So taking great inspiration from Chief and Gaigaan-Dnok, I've begun my own Perseus. Largely based on the movie as well, but not so married to that I won't do something if it's cool.

This is a WIP mainly because I still need to accessorize. Vintage shield is on the way.

Also a WIP because I hope the head is just a placeholder until I get the one I want sorted out.

I decided I didn't want to go softgoods, partly to be different, but partly to better fit in with the plastic clothing of most of the HACKS. So here is where I am so far.

Image

a consideration when using the plastic is articulation. So I've done what I can to make surehe can still strike a pose, and ride a beast and such.

The upper part of the outfit is Indiana Jones Chief Temple Guard, and the lower part is modded from a regular Temple Guard. I chose it, despite being the wrong base color, because of how thin the plastic is.

Oh, and the tops of the sandals are hollowed out Prince of Persia boots.

Ooh - that's looking fantastic. And if it wasn't for me wanting to preserve my temple guard figs as-is, I'd take a page from your book and chop those guys up my own.

Very cool.

Yeah man, the red Temple Guard coat is a very cool look I've been wanting to use as-is on a custom for a long time. So it kind of hurt to chop it up for this. But it was the right level of thin to work.

I would never have guessed that skirt was plastic

Very nice!
I was considering going the plastic route for my Perseus, until Chief's version convinced me to go with fabric.
You've definitely proven it can be done, and outstandingly well at that.

I honestly think that head works well, as is, but can't wait to see what your alternative choice may be.

thanks guys.

GD - well this head is the fallback plan, and is 50% likely to be the choice as I have doubts if my preferred one will work. But I'll keep you posted.

That head is actually one of my all-time favorites and it works really well here.

I wasn't sure if this would work at the outset, but some prompting from pluv initially, then also from Gaigaan-Dnok - both from his Calibos figure, and some test shots for me here, I decided I wanted a vintage Perseus head for my HACKS version.

While it is an 80s' toy sculpt, the head still seemed to have enough detail to work. The size was something I was concerned about initially, perhaps too big of a noggin, but I think it's not that far off from other HACKS heads, except of course for the sweet 1980 hairdo.

Anyway, this is my Perseus. Vintage shield also added, and Leonidas sword in place of the vintage one. Cape is from General Grievous. Upper part of toga still Chief Temple Guard. Lower part regular Temple Guard. What do you think?

also copied Chief's recipe for Pegasus. Indiana Jones horse plus MU Angel wings.

I haven't decided who this will be yet, but wanted to start adding to the ranks of, at least, background figures for my ancients verse.

Image

and here is a little skeleton scene - which you can kind of see behind Perseus above -

and a WIP -
trying to further add to the ranks with some diverse looks. This is the Eva Green from Golden Compass head. And I modded an IJ Willie Scott torso to be the upper torso of a HACKS figure.
