My old DC thread was getting way too long, so I decided to start a new one. This first image will always feature the latest addition: Attachment: You can see more of my two newest additions on page 8. |

Yeah, he doesn't look like a gorilla to me, but a big chimp. What head are you using? Can you bash some bits from a Schleich/Papo statue to get a better head, and maybe the oversized forearms? The gray skin doesn't work either, imho. Didja give him a silver back? |

I think I probably would have just used the Luca gorilla figure from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. He'd be bigger for sure. http://news.toyark.com/2014/08/25/dawn- ... iew-136712 |

He looks like a young gorilla or maybe he is on a workout routine from hell to get shredded. No matter... I like it! Great job! |

| Post subject: | Re: 2016 DC Comics Customs - Killer Croc - Arkham style |
So first, thanks for all the crits on Grodd. I think I've come to the conclusion that I need to make a choice: is he a normal sized ape in my verse (in which case the DCIH one just needs some articulation help) or is he a giant ape (in which case I may just pop for that Luca figure). Decisions, decisions. Meanwhile, here's a character with whom I had the opposite problem: Attachment: I loved Killer Croc's look in Arkham Asylum, and I get that he was played big in that medium, but the figure that came out as part of the Multiverse line just took it too far, imho. He was closer to 6-inch scale (being taller than that) than the scale of the already undersized Multiverse figures. Fortunately my Batman is built on an MU buck, so taking the essential elements form that oversized Multiverse Croc and making him more in scale really only required me to sacrifice what was an undeersized MU Abomination. Here's a shot of Croc and Bats going at it to show the size differential (both are bent slightly at the knees): Attachment: What do you guys think? |

Glad you dig it. The croc base figure I cannibalized is pretty cheap/easy to find. You'll want its head, legs and hands (and wristbands if you're up for chopping them off, hollowing them out and trimming them down). You'll need to adapt the head to fit the abomination torso and the leg pegs (after you crack croc's crotch) so they'll fit into the abomination crotch. Depending on the range of motion you want, you may have to sand down the sockets on the abomination crotch (I did). Then you just need some green stuff to sculpt pant fabric and a waistband and some paint to pull it all together. Easy peasy. |

That croc is awesome. For some reason his head reminds me of the dad from Dinosaurs |

The part meshing and paint matching is very quality craftsmanship. The proportions don't really work for me though. The large-bodied MU bucks already have an issue with squat torsos. That, combined with the extra long legs from the larger-scaled figure make him look like he's got his pants pulled up to his armpits. |

I'm not familiar with this design, but the inmate uniform looks great. Wonderful paints. |
