Dusty.
Born in desert oasis that is Las Vegas he couldn’t wait to leave. He joined the French Foreign Legion where he put all his time in the desert to good use. He picked up several languages along the way. After his term with the FFL was up he tried to enlist in the US Army and was denied flat out. He went back to the desert outside Las Vegas living a nomadic lifestyle. Until a visit from Duke changed his future.
He was accepted to the Joe team where he became the go to expert on all things desert related. He fought in every desert including Antarctica, he liked to point out deserts are defined by precipitation not heat.
He was on leave in the American Southwest when the outbreak began.
He survived the defeat of the Joe Team. The fall of the US government. The collapse of modern civilization. Now he wanders the desert trying to inflict damage on Cobra supply lines. A true nomad.
The desert is a harsh environment in the best of times. The end of life as we know it is not the opposite. If it was only the sun and heat Dusty would have faired well. But the radioactive winds and toxic air left him burned and scarred. He learned many lessons since the fall. Most the hard way.
