#57 Billy

From Devil's Due, this is Billy Kessler. The Devil's Due run was mostly cringe worthy due to the writing of Josh Blaylock. His writing was completely lacking any sense of military or political bearing, which is necessary to follow in the footsteps of Larry Hama. But he did get a few things right, including how he handled Kamakura and Billy. I'll even say that Blaylock did a better job on Kamakura than Hama did than when Hama eventually handled the Sean Collins character. In fairness to Hama, he did have to write against what Blaylock had earlier written to avoid the appearance of being a mimic. Blaylock also did a good job with Billy, who grew up to become a Joe. Did he get a codename, though?

I took the DD look for Billy and pushed it further into military gear. No more blue jeans, basically.

I don't know about a bb gun, but I think CC killed him in either Devil's Due or Marvel/IDW continuity. Maybe both?
