The stomach area is sculpted.
In the middle of that off-white area is a pen tube, which was used to space the chest/back from the waist piece. Had to fix those New Sculpt proportions, of course. The o-ring runs through it. The epoxy was then layered around the pen tube and sculpted into what you see.
Also, it's not even an o-ring. I used a loop of wire and twisted the figure at the waist to wind the wire, which set the legs in place against the waist. Then I put a drop of superglue down the wire to lock it into place.
Whenever I have figures that have the torsos lengthened I replace the o-ring with wire, since there's no way to open the figure back up to replace a dry-rotted o-ring.
Neat technique, but here's something to add to your arsenal. I've found that I can sculpt with green stuff to lengthen the torso while its together and then 24 hours later I can slice through the seams with an Xacto to allow the torso to be split like normal and the green stuff holds up. I've done this lengthening the torso as well as adding details that wrap over the shoulders or under the arms. Also done this to fill in gaps on thigh parts. Apoxie seems to cure harder and more brittle not allowing the Xacto to slice through smoothly, in my experience.
