Laddies and Gentlewomen, fire your jets and welcome to the 2018 JoeCustoms Special Project: RAMJET SUPERMOTOENDURO *Enduro is a form of motorcycle sport run on extended cross-country off-road courses; a Supermoto is a motorcycle race on a track that alternates between three kinds of race courses: the hard packed dirt of flat track, the irregular jumps and obstacles of motocross, and the paved tarmac of road racing. In one sentence: JoeCustoms members are invited to participate in a site-wide poll-based race, using customized jetbikes based on the GI Joe RAM motorcycle with custom drivers. The favorability poll by site members will determine Pole Position of that bike during the race. Races will also take into account randomized dice rolls and user-generated bravado, as well as specific race/track conditions and layouts. Your bike should be a new custom, but no rules as to the racer, other than there might be judges on hand at the event to give awards based on the quality of the outfit, team, etc... (leaves open some admin discretion. So for instance, a guy who makes a whole pit crew might get a prize compared to guy who plops Duke down on a RAM without wheels. The 2018 contest takes place in 'near future' on Earth. Your build should utilize realistic physics and imaginable near-future tech. There will be a series of races this year, with the first being held the weekend of US May 25th. THERE WILL BE PRIZES, INCLUDING SPONSORSHIP. Other races and rules TBD, with the final race taking place during celebration 2019. If you think you're up to the challenge: 1. Build your custom RAMjet 2. Build or choose your Driver 3. Assign points to your RAMjet Combo: You have 15 points to distribute amongst your bike and rider's stats: edit: *5 IS MAX POINTS IN ANY SINGLE ATTRIBUTE SPEED: AGILITY: DURABILITY: FAVORABILITY: (could also be called 'Presentation,' or in DnD terms: Charisma) That's basically it. If you have any questions, please post in this thread, we will try to answer them as best we can, and will update these rules as needed. |

Brought to you by the ACTION FORCE NETWORK *streaming on your mobile device on CHANNEL Z #36 : STINGRAY Attachment: SPEED: 5 AGILITY: 1 DURABILITY: 5 FAVORABILITY: 4 (possible heel) RIDER: JOHNNY 'DAREDEVIL' BLAZE Attachment: This RAMjet is amazing on the straightaways and blasting through obstacles, but really has some issues with agility (tight turns) Johnny 'DareDevil' Blaze was chosen from a talent pool based on his 'devil-may-care attitude' and taking risks no one else would, to try and make up for the limited maneuverability of the jetbike He is a crowd favorite due to his fearless stunt driving and signature move of standing on the RAMjet as he crosses the finish line. But some viewers love to hate him because of his in-race altercations with other racers. Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment:

#1 Iron Griffin piloted by Cheetah sponsored by MARS (by pluv) Speed: 5 Agility: 3 Durability: 4 Favorability: 3 Pilot - Cheetah Real name - Ani O’Loiter Head: Marvel Universe Aurora Body: MU Gamora Hands: PoC Storm Shadow Helmet: NASCAR knockoff Vest: Han Solo Bio: “Oh, you don’t have a shielded warp engine? Good luck with that. Hey, what are doing?! That’s a bumper not a claw! Oh come on, how can you have rocket boosters without rockets?! No, no, no, that’s a GPS not a targeting device! WHOA! No one said anything about pre-race scanners!” Attachment: M.A.R.S. sponsored Iron Griffin Base body: RAM Frame and fairing: pullback atv from 2DARK2C Windscreen: Lego Front leg fairing: Cobra Survellance Port Warp corp engine: 4 x lightsaber hilts and Lego tube Thruster nozzles: Tamashi Nations Front stabilizers and rear stabalizer: Star Wars build a thing Iron Griffin Financial News Military Armorments Research Syndicate (NASDAQ: MARS) announced today they will be entering the RAMJET SUPERMOTOENDURO competition with the company sponsored Iron Griffin. CEO James McCullen Destro, the XXIV revealed the new state of the art vehicle as a concept showpiece for MARS’ new foray into the civilian transportation and recreational vehicle market. “The MARS Iron Griffin was designed with one word in mind: legacy. We aim for a new horizon, one in which we can make getting from here to there a little easier, a little safer, and I’m not going to lie, a lot more fun.” The patented Warp (tm) engine was originally developed as a competing booster engine design for the Tesla Space X program. Its secret power source appears to share some similarities to the Hammer Industries reactor. It has a shielded deflector that can convert to a radar. It also has an additional rear-launched drone using the S.H.E.L. (System Helper Environment Logistics) platform, that can aide with additional areial visuals and independent global positioning mapping. Finally, the windscreen also acts as a HUD. About: Originally the bike was going to be orange. But then I found some transparent red spray paint and decided to do the pilot in orange and the bike in red. I figured everyone else would be doing the tack some big ol' engines onto a RAM blueprint for this and I want to show something different. First, I wanted to have a street glide style windscreen. Second, I want the engine to attach directly to the RAM frame. Third, while looking for a seat, 2DARK2C had sent me some vehicle parts and the solid atv body fit like a glove and added to the street glide look. There is very little of the actual RAM visible which hopefully will give other people inspiration for how far they can take this project. #12 : GYREJET with BLUE-GYRE (and FU MONKEY) Attachment: Attachment: SPEED: 3 AGILITY: 5 DURABILITY: 2 FAVORABILITY: 5 A lot can be said about BLUE-GYRE. A lot has been said. Only parts of it are true. What is indisputable is his skill as a pilot. And the GYREJET underneath him widening the lead between him and the people beneath him. With FU MONKEY acting as a trained on-the-fly mechanic, he shouts into his mask mic and straight into FUM’s ears to release some pressure on the number 2 engine or to tighten up whatever is rattling, FUM takes it in stride like he’s Mr. Frosty. At The Heart Of It All, the GYREJET is a beautiful piece of machinery. Two intake jets on the front for the sake of maneuverability and two large humming engines on the back for that crucial burst of speed. It’s definitely not meant to be piloted by any old Windowlicker. While one wonders why he trained a monkey to barely hang on and fix issues with the bike, you can’t deny that his win record is anything less than ELITE. “Ha Ha! Hee! Ain’t that a sight?! Ya got that pilot crazy shouting at that dang monkey and he’s all scramblin’ about like a tick on a bird! Ha ha! Hoodee dang! I ain’t seen nothin’ like that before!” -Butane Bob Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: *thanks for the BIO help, KilCarr |

THE GREY GHOST No. 9 Pilot and Team Owner: Tristan Knight of Knight Industries, aka Knighthawk Pre-Race inspection underway Attachment: Crew Chief, "Jeff", gives a status report Attachment: Knighthawk suits up and prepares to race Attachment: The Grey Ghost, No.9 SPEED: 5 AGILITY: 2 DURABILITY: 5 FAVORABILITY:3 Clearly this is a machine built for power/speed and endurance. It rarely breaks down, but has on board storage for any necessary repairs that happen along the way. It's horrible on the corners, and will encounter some difficulty in the trickier parts of any track. This racing team made the big leagues the hard way, but running rampant over lesser competition in a multitude of small town races. They've garnered a fair amount of low budget sponsors along the way, but are in dire need of big-time national endorsements if they want to keep the operation afloat. Knighthawk has beat up and battered the Grey Ghost, but with Jeff's hard work, and a machine built like a very fast tank, it has withstood every battle, every crash and every breakdown just as strong as ever. While it may not be as pretty as the shiny new competition, it still has a certain charm. Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: The Grey Ghost, Knighthawk and Jeff, (by drbindy) (also has the honor of having been the first entry completed... by a madman.) |

#22 MRF and Funskool sponsored Jethawk with pilot Hoecake Atoms Speed: 4 Agility: 4 Durability: 4 Favorability: 3 @Catch22 #Catch22 Hoecake Atoms is Aero Mexico Piloto de Helicoptero y Bio-Molecular Ingeniero. Coming from the Mexican circuit he isn’t so keen on racing etiquitte. His sponsors aren’t exactly high end but they like him because he is nothing if not consistant. The Jethawk is a solid frame bike built with some of MRF disbanded air racing technology. It can take a beating which is good because Atoms grew up with the motto “bumping is racing” engrained into him. Have a short guy syndrome and Latin temper just makes the flare ups that much more intense. He’s just as likely to take you and him out to make a point about respect as he is to come in second place. *** Main: diecast RAM Front wings: Matchbox jet and Star Wars Risk Battle Droid tank Rear wing: Skyhawk Jet rockets: Spider Man Minimates About: I was looking for some of the GI Joe micro vehicles and came across the Hasbro die-cast RAM. I thought it would make for a good prize or something. It turned out I was able to get a lot of several for cheaper than one. While checking one of them out I put a Mega Blox Picard on it and thought it looked pretty dang cool...cool enough to take a dremel to it. Again, a different approach to the concept. For a paint scheme I was thinking silver and black with a Raiders pirate theme. After base coating it in silver I remembered the Funskool Streethawk version of the RAM which in turn reminded me of the Funskool MRF Racing version of the VAMP and RAM. All of a sudden I not only had a deco, but race team sponsors to boot. Awesome idea, I'm in! Questions: 1. "customized jetbikes based on the GI Joe RAM motorcycle": does the base have to be one of the RAM versions? 2. "customized jetbikes based on the GI Joe RAM motorcycle": the original RAM had a "sidecar" with a gun. So, do our versions have to have one on one side as well? Or can we make a bike without one too? 3. One entry/member or are more entries allowed? |

No, you do not need to include the gun. These races (at least initially) are not DEATH RACES. Weaponry is optional, but might slow you down. 3. You are allowed as many as you can get done before RACE DAY! |

So do we have to have our bikes ready by the first race to compete for the season or will late entries be allowed? |

Mysterious Stranger wrote: So do we have to have our bikes ready by the first race to compete for the season or will late entries be allowed? The bikes that are ready on RACE DAY will race. The bikes that are ready by RACE DAY #2 (future date TBD) will race then. They can be the same bike ... if the bike survived the prior race ... The 'season' aspect is still TBD. |
