Well, it looks like the Red Laser announcement that was coming yesterday is that he is doing removable helmet Vipers.
Those EEL Vipers will be mine. Oh yes, they will.

I'm less enthused about the removable helmets than I am the coloring. Hasbro really dropped the ball on Viper repaint ideas in the 2000's. Having a 2nd shot at some new color interpretations will be really nice. The Eel Vipers are a great idea, too. |

Oh my god these are beautiful. It's about damn time we got a dark-skinned Viper. I'm sincerely hoping for some Crimson Vipers and ones based on the 2002 v8 color scheme. |

Red Laser & Black Major, they are like the Collector's Club vintage ARAH collectors deserve but the one they'll never get. Great choices for color schemes with all the original body parts (except the head...so far). I wouldn't oppose a EEL recast, either, though frogmen would have somewhat less appeal than ground forces. I'm also mixed about the removable helmets, because frankly the removable helmet Siegies looked not-so great. But in this case the original Viper helmet might be big enough to work. I hope these keep going and maybe Alley-Viper V1 can get some justice done, along with some drivers. |

Those Desert Vipers are super schway! And I'm with Sean_C: an o-ring Alley Viper v1 with a removable helmet would be boss!  Maybe even a Frag-Viper or Techno-Viper?

I got a set of each from eBay last week and they arrived on Saturday (I was out of town). Excellent quality as you would expect. The bodies/helmets are mostly painted, it seems like they were molded in a flesh tone aside from the boots. Helmets are slightly rubbery which is good. The Eel flippers and airhose are also rubbery, again seems good. I would recommend doing a quick dremel/sanding/filing in the back screwhole to allow backpacks to fit better, same for the inside of the helmets to avoid scuffed noses, they are really tight otherwise. |
