I stopped into the local Toys "R" Us recently, for the first time in quite a while, and there wasn't a G.I. Joe item to be had in the entire place. The last time I'd been in there, they'd had a number of the most recent two-packs (on clearance), and a few of the vehicle sets (some on clearance, some not). I'm assuming they put the whole lot of them on an even greater clearance, and that was the end of that. (I was sort of hoping to get the Cobra Basilisk at a really, really considerable discount, but I guess I blew that.) I hate to say it, but between this, and the likely end of the Conventions, and FSS 5.0 being the last series of Club figures, I wonder when or if we'll ever see G.I. Joe again. Maybe with another movie, but I doubt until then. |

I never saw any traces of the 50th line up here. The days of Hasbro producing non-movie related action figure lines are long gone with the exception of Transformers and perhaps the Star Wars Rebels line, but even those are tied to big movie franchises and weekly cartoon shows. Hasbro have way too much competition out there along the pressure of their shareholders to take any risks (and innovate) anymore, so no big movie push equals no toy line. They use to set trends, now they follow. Same vicious circle: no risk, no glory and no glory, no risk. |

The TRU I was at on Saturday still had anbunch of the most recent 50th Anniversary releases at clearance prices. |

They may end up at Tuesday Morning stores. They usually get the TRU leftovers. |

I'm glad to know some stores still have supplies. |

TRU will also move product from stores where sales are stagnant to locations where the product is still selling. And at least around here, I know stores are still putting out cases, since I just found a Gung-Ho pack over the weekend. |

3 TRU in the past week and all of them had GI Joe. Clearanced, of course, but they still had it. |

I'll bet HypnoHustler's theory is correct. That stuff had been sitting there forever. |

My TRU has two pegs of 50th stuff over with the collectors toys. I think they're the only normal scaled figures in the aisle. (except for the Funko retro figs) |
