I received my chrome blanks yesterday and at first was quite impressed. Unfortunately I noticed that the shine dulled significantly after being handled. Now they look like silver painted figures. It's happened on 3 out of the four. The fourth is dulled but not as much.

Is anyone else having this problem

Ugh - that blows.

Wonder if buffing them up with a soft cloth would shine them back up?

I did not have time to try that but I will.
It was suprising how dull they got, especially the female blanks

Try some GlossCote on them. You're likely just rubbing off the usual mold-release gunk all figures have

Money's been tight for a while now, and I've owed a buddy some money; so I've not been able to keep up with the releases. But I put in for a snakey Medusa and Green Dude for my buddy (Greenie's gonna be to make Hal Jordan, he says) and a Penthesilea for myself. I'm largely kinda cool on the dudes of waves 5-7, but I gotta get all the ladies and Gorgons

Got my "chrome" blanks today. Gotta say that these are the first HACKS figs that have disappointed me. I wasn't expecting full-on chromed plastic, but was hoping the silver would be shinier.

I snagged them for some Micronaut customs and a Jocasta custom, but now I'm going to have to give them a blast of chromey paint to work like I want.

At least I won't have to worry about paint rub on the joints.

agreed. workable, for customizers... But I'm going to call this one a poor choice in color naming. "Chrome" even though maybe we were naive to expect it, implies something more than just silver paint.

meh. more poor word choices. I'm not sure what's on the outside making them dull with use, but I should have said color and not paint.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking less then positively about these.

Got my shipping notice for the blanks I ordered. Will be interesting to see what the chrome ones look like in hand, given the comments above. Hopefully they'll work for what I've got planned.

Woots, got my latest order with Penthy and my buddy's pair. Penthy's shield is a bit warped due to not being fully inserted into its tray cradle, but it's nothing a spot of heating won't fix. All told, my only negative is that I would have preferred she come with a helmet instead of a thurd, or even second, sword.

Liftoff and I split a trio of MTF Vals, for which I still owe him for the one that's mine (the ninja, iirc), so I put in an order last night for the Underworld lava Warrior he's been wanting. I also got Chrome and Black dudes for customs and a Boa Gorgon to supplement my cadre of Gorgon Daughters.

Woot, put in my latest order Sunday night and got it an hour ago!

The Chrome looks great, but is already scraping off the joints in a couple places. I can fix it in post, though.
