That's what I'm talkin' about...

http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/customs_specific_item.php?kind=figure&alpha=D&page=3&id=7169

I'll still probably buy all the comic packs and redeem for the promotional one, but I don't feel the same pressure to do it fast.

Thanks to http://www.EntertainmentEarth.com for posting the Official HASBRO Rules for the mail-in G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Doc!

Cobra captured him and it's up to you to rescue him! Now you can get your very own G.I. Joe Doc figure -- here's how to redeem yours!

1. Collect and save the proof-of-purchase stickers from 6 G.I. Joe Comic Packs.
2. Attach the stickers to the spaces on the redemption form included with the comic packs. (You can have any combination of 6 stickers!)
3. Clearly print your name and address in the space provided.
4. Mail the completed certificate (name and address clearly printed, all 6 stickers attached) and a check or money order for $4.95 (made out to Operation: Rescue Doc Redemption Request) to:

GI JOE Operation: Rescue Doc Redemption Request
PO Box 2099
Azle, TX 76098

All requests must be postmarked by August 31, 2008.

The exclusive G.I. Joe Doc figure will be mailed within 6-8 weeks from receipt of the redemption request. (Please note: product does not begin shipping until May 1, 2008.)

This offer is good for a limited time only and while supplies last. Official Redemption Certificates must be postmarked by August 31, 2008. Incomplete entries (missing the Official Redemption Certificate, one or more proof-of-purchase stickers, and/or payment) will not be honored. No copies, duplicates or other reproductions will be accepted. HASBRO reserves the right to verify all redemptions and reject any insufficient redemption at its sole discretion. Offer valid for redemption by end users only; excludes resellers and distributors. Void where taxed, prohibited or restricted by law. HASBRO is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, damaged, mutilated, incomplete, illegible or postage-due redemptions. Offer valid in U.S. only for fulfillment at U.S. addresses. No P.O. boxes will be accepted.

Can't I just send them 15 bucks and get the figure? I think this would work out well for me.

Haven't there only been five comic packs announced?

Oh well, I guess we can all get our docs from scalpers and such that will no doubt get a ton of them.

Looks like I will have alot of Comic pack custom fodder.

Gotta go search for pictures... And I gotta start paying better attention.

So I need to buy six comic packs just to pay the price of a figure to get this one! I know shipping has gone up, but as anyone can tell you, a padded envelope and shipping for one figure is usually between $2.00 - $2.50.

So the shipping window is six months away, and then for only four months, but we can start sending away for it now? How many requests may be lost? I'm still waiting for one of my Unmasked Storm Shadow's.

Well VOTC George Lucas as a Stormtrooper cost $4.95 to ship also. That came on a card in a protected clamshell case. Yet we only had to send in 5 stickers.

Man this just frustrates me... I don't WANT fodder figures, the crappy figures are going to be worthless for trades and all I want from the comic packs (that I've seen so far) are Hawk, Breaker and the Dreadnoks. Doc may still end up being to pricey for me to add to my collection, and scalpre prices are going to be just as bad... :( At least wit the Star Wars offer, it was something I was going to buy ANYWAY...

There have actually been NINE comic packs mentioned...

#1 - Ashley Wood cover- Hawk & Scarlett
#21 - Ashley Wood cover - Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow
#24 - Ashley Wood cover - Duke & Cobra Commander

#14 - Greg Horn Cover - Breaker & Destro
#30 - Greg Horn Cover - Torch & Ripper
#115 - Greg Horn Cover - Not announced or shown by Hasbro, but Greg Horn said he did a cover for 115 also.

Then the wave with the Larry Hama stories, Jeremy Dale art, figures not known and issues not confirmed (and Jeremy said he's done 3 of them)...

#10.5? - Hama writing, Dale art, new story, figures unknown (All About Fred, Fred with CG cover)
#21.5? - Hama writing, Dale art, new story, figures unknown (Silent Issue story, Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes cover)
#??.5 - Hama writing, Dale art, new story, figures unknown

Hmm. That's right. That's a little bit better.

Any idea if all these are supposed to be on the streets before the Aug 31 deadline though?

If these are all out by the Doc deadline than there shouldn't be too much of a problem picking 6 worthy of purchase, but given how crappy distribution of this line has been so far I'm not gonna count on it. :-/
