The first 25th Major Bludd still honks me off! even though they released a more accurate homage with the desert set. In fact, that whole torso mold seems like a pretty big waste of time in retrospect. It didn't make a good Bludd or Zartan and they haven't even tried to recolored and reuse it for anyone else.

I'm also not thrilled that neither Bludd had an articulated elbow in his armored/robotic arm. I've had to fix that on like five different customs, which is a huge pain.

That's because Bludd is so awesome he doesn't NEED an elbow!

This came in handy during his football and rugby careers. He had a devastating stiffarm move.

Surprised no one mentioned the RoC Hawk that came with the Pit playset. Dopey cartoon eyes, giraffe neck, bow-legged. The only good part of that figure was the jacket.

It's being used for the FSS Desert Scorpion that's based on the unreleased POC Desert Scorpion.
But yeah, it's a crap torso.

Finally had a chance to get out and shoot some figures from the latest wave. Gotta say, Ultimate Duke, not so "ultimate." Guy comes with 73 rifles and can't hold a single one of them two handed. Flint and Mouse come with the same vest, but I think their arms are different enough that they can hold their weapons properly.

I gave my Data-Viper to GITrekker, so I can't give a hands on opinion, but I can honestly say General Hawk's review of that figure was the first he ever talked me OUT of getting a figure.

Had to take Battle Kata RB's head and put it on Ultimate RB. Droopy eyes were too unbecoming.

25th Gung Ho, 25th Roadblock, Copperhead, Torch...all crap arms. The torso (GH and Torch) was ok for a bare chest, but worked alot better with the arms that Mindbender and Monkey Wrench came with.

Maybe you had a bad one? My ultimate RB has good eyes.
And his eyebrows are giving me the People's Eyebrow.

I trimmed a little of the vest in front of the shoulders, just behind the chest plate off and he can hold whatever he wants now. You can't even tell I did anything.

RogueTiger sent me this link that describes basically the same thing.
http://forums.fighting118th.com/showthread.php?t=6021

I'll try either one, coz over all Ultimate Duke is a great looking figure and would make for a fine troop builder, but these mods shouldn't have to be made.

Also to add to the list of bad figures, Leatherneck and Wet Suit from the Mission: Brazil Convention set. Again, good looking figures, but bad choice in parts. Duke arms? Seriously? Considering all the parts that were available at the time, better arm choices could have been made.

I think that's probably because nobody could afford the set he came with...that thing was pretty badly overpriced for what you got in my opinion.

ROC PIT Hawk was a pretty dreadful figure. I couldn't find anything on that fig worth re-purposing. The best thing about that fig was the coffee mug and whatever that SAW-looking weapon was.

If you bash the arms and jacket from the Pit Hawk onto the single card Hawk, you get a pretty decent movie accurate version.

I don't know, I absolutely love that jacket and arms combo, and would take a bunch more if they had been available.

Also, the PIT sucked, for the list price. But I got mine for 20 cents on the dollar. I'll never put it together as such, but I've already scrapped it out for thrice that in parts value. Plus - ping pong paddles man. I mean seriously!

lol

As for my vote, I don't have to look any further than the first 5 packs. That Duke was horrible. Bad head, bad moobs, bad wrists, bad holster. For awhile, I used the legs on other customs at least, but the figure, as constructed (along with any others than copied it) was just woeful. Whatever I have left are now limited to being hardware donors for the Trigate and Stocos torsos I've not assembled yet.

Gung Ho was a close 2nd, though I did use those parts for longer on other customs.
