First custom wins... :shifty:

Nice tribute to Gary.

Amazing actually. To get the idea and create the parts and get the pics and bio ready. someone was burning the midnight oil

Gonna be a big seller.

D.d.p. Said they had to go through legal because hasbro cannot name characters after real people anymore, even as Easter eggs. They cleared it, then cleared it with family. Very nice.

Any word on BBTS being involved? That was so convenient.

And the in person photos I just saw of that stealth Skystriker make that thing look amazing.

Very nice line up.
Even better than the first assortment of 50th figures, but then again, it's been like that for a while with GI Joe.
Looking forward that new Storm Shadow.

So... that new twist was what? The reversed Skystriker and Hiss?

And Snowcat.

I guess the new product manager is not familiar with Tiger Force or Python Patrol...

Yeah, I don't see what the "new twist" was at all.

I love the SDCC exclusives and really hate that there's extra figures in the one set if you get it at SDCC. I hate that the exclusives are exclusive in general though, because Hasbro ones are impossible to get usually. I know it's not rational, but it makes me mad, because that AVAC is a new interesting take on the character and I'll never get it.

Gung Ho, Zartan, Alpine, Storm Shadow, Chuckles, FOE Striker are must-owns. Alpine already was, but I'm not shelling out $50 for a figure that people got at Ross for super cheap.

Interesting assortment, if not the most interesting vehicle selections. And repetitive character selection. It's good to see Gung-Ho again and a Hit'n Run at retail (maybe not that one, though :-| ).
Are those reissues really just reissues?

It seems they will never do anything with those zombie and ninja prototypes. I think they are missing an opportunity.

Oh yeah, one thing I was very disappointed with--rumors for months of a 6" line, with an added tease of a new twist on G.I. Joe...and then poof nothing announced or even teased. They really need to try something to get Joe into retail stores beyond TRU.

Sad to see that Bazooka has been sickly. I hope he starts feeling better and gets some meat on his bones again eventually.

Regarding the SDCC Exclusive, I will most likely be buying just the plane, but it looks like 2 of the figures marked SDCC (Night Fox and Steeler) use those Retaliation W1 Roadblock lower legs with no articulation. For those prices you'd think you would get full articulation.

I personally am very excited they did not mess with the formula. They have tried several different sizes with nearly no success.

As far as getting back into retail. If the major motion picture does not do it nothing will. A successful cartoon would probably be well worth the expense and accomplish the task of gaining shelf space as well.

Thanks to Justin and company for keeping us all informed. Interesting line-up. Since there is a lot of new stuff to take in, I need to look at these a few more times, but some quick thoughts:

2-Packs:
- Storm Shadow vs Spirit: Will buy one to display and maybe a couple more to customize. That is a very solid recipe for Spirit.

- Cobra Commander vs Shipwreck: Interesting colors combo for CC. I'll probably repaint the red to black. Love the red cape though. Shipwreck will be useful in multiples for customs since the LAW tooling is solid.

- Shadow Guard vs Gung Ho: This is where I'll be putting a large part of my budget. I want to army build the SG and the Gung Ho buck is all new and really well sculpted. Looking forward to getting multiples.

- Croc Master vs Blowtorch: Blowtorch again? Really? At least he is not packed with an army builder this time, so this will be a one and done deal.

- Iron Grenadiers vs Steel Brigade: I like the all troop building pack. I already have quite a few of these from the PoC and 30th days, so I'm no rush to buy up more. Still I'm happy for what this pack can represent for the future.

3-Packs
- Rock Viper, Shock Trooper vs Alpine: Will get a few for the Rock Vipers. It's cool to have easy access to Alpine as well. I have my fill of Shock Troopers, so that one won't be as useful to me.

- Dusty and Bluzooka vs Firefly: I like the urban battle theme in this one. I'll need a few of those Fireflies for customs as well.

- Torpedo and Hit & Run vs Zartan: I'll head swap Zartan for the 25th version to create an ultimate version. Hit & Run will the base for several customs, so I'll need a few of them. Torpedo is the dud of this pack.

Vehicles:
- Desert Duel: Love love love the new AWE Striker. Fantastic way to modernize it and I'm looking forward to painting one yellow for the Adventure Team. Chuckles is awesome too. The Cobra Snowcat is not something that I really need in my collection though.

- Skystriker vs HISS: Cool pack, will get one and maybe try to get a second HISS w. drivers on ebay. The Joes will be going on my Night Force shelf and the Cobras will end up with the Eco-Warriors.

- SDCC stuff: I probably won't go out of my way to get it. Unfortunately, Steeler and Grunt were characters that I would have loved to get in the main line. Oh well...

OB
