Needs orange camo, even if its a dark shade of orange. And that "LASER BLAST" vest again.

By the time they finished revealing this year's con set, I had lost interest beyond words.

Yeah, a little orange camo would've been welcome, but perhaps not QUITE as intense as the original.

The only thing that ever really bugged me about the original Spearhead figure was that he was a little too -- broad-shouldered. Sort of like he was a Corps figure or some such.

I think the Club's done a good transition here.

the club you get the monthly magazine/comic but you still get a free figure too,it's $44. If the figure is good it's a fair price

Yeah, I'd been on the fence about the FSS 3 stuff, mostly because many of the figures are from a year when I was losing interest in Joe. But this looks really good. Not sure I'll be able to pass up the sub if they're all this good.

So they'll open the purchase window on June first with only one figure revealed so far? I can imagine the figures that are based on the Night Force Con set, but the others I'd like to see before I pull the trigger.

I think that they're dragging out the reveals because they simply don't have all their samples in hand from China yet.
Instead of waiting a little to have a complete set and make a proper launch, the Club is just being its usual self and is releasing any little bit of info it has.
It burned them in the past because they couldn't wait and the fans ended up angry.

Alpine is up - http://www.gijoeclub.com/forums/showthr ... PER-ALPINE!

Looks good. Seems like it's more version 3 than 2, but that's ok. Hopefully the new head ends up as good as Big Bear and Keel Haul.

Kwinn body. I think that was expected. Looks nice.

Surprisingly, the only thing that is taken from Kwinn are the legs. I was expecting them to simply repaint him, but they took elements from several different figures. The rest is:
Torso: Ultimate Firefly
Arms: Ultimate Flint
Belt: Firefly
Accessories: 25th Alpine
Head: new

I think this figure looks far better than it had any right to look. The head sculpt is great and definitely more reminiscent of the vintage version than of the VvV version, and the Club went with the much better single pack wave colors rather than the two-pack version they had pictured for reference. I wasn't really looking forward to the figure prior to the reveal, but now I think it will make a good non-cold-weather Alpine.

Alpine is a lot more impressive than I expected. The "newsculpt" version on which this figure is ostensibly based was not at all impressive to me, and I didn't expect a transition to the modern style to look all that great, if only because I wasn't impressed with the source material. Basically, Alpine was close to the bottom of the list for FSS 3.0 as far as I was concerned. After seeing this, he's moved up more than a few notches. Appropriate enough for a mountain specialist, yes? :)
