Big write up to end up with no swivel motion on the arms... How about getting THAT precious element from within.

You're joking, but as someone trying to make a custom of Patton Oswalt's character from AoS, I would kill for that.

Agreed. When I sit a modern figure, I usually notice how difficult it is to get them to sit at all. Those constrained hips aren't making me think "damn, that's sexy." That bit made me think that perhaps the people writing it don't actually know what they are talking about.

I think the only bad thing about this kickstarter is that it is definitely on a mission to provide a better action figure for girls. That means that unlike the recent fun on KS we have been seeing for collectors, these things are targeted at kids and need to then have some safety testing. They say 4 and up, but I have to wonder what their method of testing is.

They don't say what was done, but did say this

"We have already put our figures through a design evaluation with a 3rd party agency to ensure the figures meet all safety requirements."

I'm going in on this one. My daughter really thinks they look cool, so I'll get them for her. Maybe she'll let dad keep one.

As a father of twin girls, I'll say I understand a bit where they're coming from. One of my daughters is getting into superheroes, and I thought I'd get her some girl superheroes, but yes, was a little hesitant which to do with so many of them clearly having the "adult male collector" more in mind than a role model for a young girl (at least from a pure visual standpoint).

But I'll also agree with most of the comments here that they went a bit overboard on the rhetoric. And in the end they still chose a very thin girl with a skin-tight uniform...most girls in America at least still don't look like that. That's sort of the rub with a "superhero" - they can't look average almost by definition.

Anyhow - cool concept overall. What's with the "fear" figure? Is that supposed to be the villain or something?

I see now in the FAQ for colors they explained Fear as a component of Courage that can be used for good.

Also in one of the updates it looks like they are exploring adding ball joint elbows now that they have extra funds.

They remind me of a cross between Hasbro's SW Clone Wars cartoon figures & Mattel's DC Infinite heroes figures, i have no interest in them, but good to hear their project is getting made.
