I don't usually remember my dreams, nor am I in the habit (as far as I know), of dreaming a television show. But last night, I dreamed I was watching a brand-new G.I. Joe cartoon.
The storyline involved several G.I. Joes, including Clutch, Lifeline, and Roadblock, being trapped in a building by Cobra forces. Also trapped with them were a family and a building security guard, who was really Zartan in disguise, although he was just as worried as the Joes, since the Cobras outside didn't know he was Zartan, so he was maintaining his cover.
The only way out was -- and here's where it really got weird -- for Clutch to activate a "time field" that would send the entire group into the future. Unfortunately, Clutch overshot, and they ended up a lot further into the future than they expected.
They discovered that they were in the same building, but it was a lot more dilapidated, of course, and that Cobra was nowhere to be found. In fact, as they continued to investigate, it appeared as though Cobra didn't even exist anymore. The group was just about to breathe a sigh of relief when they were confronted by -- SKAR agents.
Then I woke up.
This was very odd. The cartoon had a quirky animation style that was actually closer to G.I. Joe Extreme, even though I barely watched that show when it first aired, and haven't seen it in a very long time. The SKAR agents would tend to indicate that this was some sort of crossover? This is still surprising, given that I don't exactly have a very positive opinion of G.I. Joe Extreme.
Not really sure what to make of it all, except that perhaps given the lack of much of anything G.I. Joe-related these days, except for Larry Hama's excellent comic book from IDW and a handful of figures from the Club, I'm starting to make stuff up in my subconscious.
