History: Much of Ramses' story is the same as what history has written of him. However, there are few that know the full story. Towards the end of his reign, Pharaoh Ramses began learning the secrets of Alchemy. Not long thereafter, Ramses' kingdom came under siege by an ancient immortal mutant known as Set. Ramses tried vainly to defeat the foe, but never gained an advantage. While Ramses was away on a campaign, Set attacked the royal palace, slaughtering the Pharaoh's entire family. Returning to find everyone he ever loved dead, Ramses made the ultimate vow; he would not rest until Set was destroyed, even if it took all eternity.

Drawing on the Alchemic arts he had learned, Ramses set out to create the Grand Arcanum (Philosopher's) Stone. His entire kingdom was sacrificed as a means of creating the stone; overnight, all of it disappearing. Having the means to defeat Set, Ramses used the stone to make himself immortal. Pursuing Set into the desert, Ramses is thought lost to the sands of time.
