Gunslinger sees himself as a modern day Old West Gunfighter. He spends his free time practicing his quick-draw skills and formulating trick shots, which he then performs for the other Vipers for money. Cobra Commander chose him for Strikeforce Viper after one particular performance where he shot a lit cigarette out of the mouth of a Tele-Viper while at the same time shooting a silver dollar out of the air. He is not content to simply act the part, he immerses himself in the role of a gunfighter, right down to the squinty eyes and Texas drawl, which wouldn't be so bad if he didn't also chew and spit tobacco.

"I kin out draw, out shoot, and out fight any of them GI Joe tenderfoots, if they knew what was good for 'em, they'd high tail it outta Dodge pronto!"
