Entire Figure: Valor vs Venom Sand Scorpion
Skirt: thin fabric backed PVC
Yet another figure from the world of Judge Dredd.
(My version of the DreddVerse): Judge Horus of the Luxor City Force. Luxor City is Egypt's main remaining population centre. After the failed coup by Judge Kamen which saw the death of Chief Judge Giza and an attempt to feed Dredd to an ancient monster, Judge Rameses took control of Luxor. It was quickly apparent that he was arrogant to the extreme and becoming insane as Cal had been in Mega City One. Horus had been trained at the Mega City One Academy of Law after his parents had emigrated to the city with their children. Upon hearing of Rameses' excesses, he asked Chief Judge Hershey to be sent to Luxor City on an 'exchange program'. She agreed, providing he did something about Rameses. Seeing the corruption on the force and the fear of his people, he marshalled rebel Judges and after a brief but bloody struggle, installed the moderate Judge Khufu. Luxor City is now run along similar lines to the Justice System in Mega City One, and enjoys a closer relationship with that city.
This figure is one I have had planned since I started on my Dredd set. Having been to Egypt several times, I fell in love with the cities of Luxor and Aswan and wanted to do my own character of one of the Judges from there as a tribute.
The shoulder pads are made from styrene sheet. The belt buckle is part of a Joe knife with the curved scabbard sculpted. The helmet is sculpted as is the cobra that curves over the top. I used PVC for the skirt as it holds its shape better than the tissue paper I have used in the past, and does not tear as easily.
The Judge badge is printed onto high resolution waterproof paper and stuck onto thin styrene sheet.
