I never liked the talking Cobra Commander figure (not just because of the monstrous backpack that couldn't be detached), and when I started remaking the 83-84 figures, Cobra Commander was one of the first on my list. I always envisioned Cobra Commander as more of a businessman than a field commander, so the hooded version seemed more appropriate to me. He's based loosely on the Devil's Due rendition of the character.
