Dr. Venom was a scientist employed by Cobra. He appeared in early G. I. Joe comics in scenes with Snake Eyes and Kwinn. One of Dr. Venom's most memorable creations was the Brainwave Scanner which he attempted to use to read the mind of Snake Eyes. Of course, he failed to get the information he wanted.

After being saved many times by Kwinn and Snake Eyes, Dr. Venom showed his true nature by shooting Kwinn in the back. He was promptly blown to bits after the grenade Kwinn was holding rolled to his feet.
