Brad J. Armbruster codename: Ace, was asked by G.I. Joe command to put together a squadron of the top pilots in the G.I. Joe organization. He did so and called the squadron the "Black Knights."

An updated version of the XP-F14, the Black Knight aircraft is a Grumman F-14A Tomcat.

The Black Knights have run many successful missions for the Joes including destroying three squadrons of Cobra Ravens over the Indian Ocean, and sinking Cobra's covert aircraft carrier the "Sea Serpent."

The Black Knights are currently active.
