Alpine was one of those great characters we only ever got a single figure of in the Joe line, which surprised me since he had a relatively prolific role in the cartoon series. When adding additional figures to various years, I thought Alpine would be a great addition to my '89 assortment. '89 Included some cool new characters as well as interesting updates of older ones.
I went with the Budo backpack because of the tabs on the side which can hold his rifle as well as his axe.
