Steven Stonewall was a typical kid living in Brooklyn N.Y. He played stickball like most kids, went on dates like most kids and enjoyed life in the big city like most kids.

That is until he turned 18 years old, that's when things went wrong, terribly wrong. You see Steven Stonewall is a mutant and he found out at the worst possible time. One day while hanging out at Broca Beach with his girlfriend, they ran into a couple of thugs intent on robbing them for all they had. Steven fought bravely, but it wasn't until his girlfriend was attacked that his mutant gene kicked in and he mutated into a large hulking creature made out of stone. Some people thought he was the Thing from the Fantastic Four, but he was a dark grey color and much stronger than the Thing. His attacker quickly dropped his girlfriend as he hurled stone projectiles from his knuckles striking them in the back. His girlfriend could only look at him in horror and scream. He tried his best to get her to understand thatit was still him, but she just kept screaming.

It was at that point he met Barrington Cross the leader of the new HAMMER Corp., offering him a place where he will be protected and can have peace. He is now one of HAMMERS enforcers and goes by the code name GREYSTONE!
